Do you insure my shipment?
Yes, all orders are insured by MyHomeStore and any damaged goods must be reported to our offices as soon as possible. If you have damaged goods, call 636-544-7299 for information and directions on returning your item.
How long does it take to get my goods?
It depends on where you are located. The warehouse is located in the middle of the country and the average shipment time is 7 days from the time I have received payment or the payment has cleared the bank (personal checks, Paypal echecks).
Are the nostalic items new or antique?
Any items that are used or antique - are specifically notated as such. Antiques/used items are only a small percentage of the sales through this store. All other items are NEW.
Are the Tin Signs real?
They are LEGAL copies of the original. There is a big market for these and I sell them for the casual admirer of these items, not the authentic collector. I do not make any claims that they are antique and do not represent them as such.
Unlike purses, watches, etc., these are legal to be sold in the U.S.
Cast Iron - can I paint Cast Iron?
Some people like the look of unfinished cast iron. Others would like them painted and you can paint them with an acrylic paint or oil. Iron is porous and therefore, may need a couple of coats.
To make it shiny, seal it or give it a satin finish, spray or paint it with a polyurethane (clear acrylic) or varnish. They are now sold in water based formulas, which are environmentally friendly.
If you don't want to go through all that, then enjoy the look of unfinished cast iron!
How long do I have to return an item?
From the date you receive your item, you have 14 days to contact us that you would like to return your item. Please check your shipments as soon as you get them! You must call us at 636-544-7299 and get a Return Authorization. You will then get instructions on how to return the item. We do not pay for return shipping, that is the cost of the customer.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Because of our limitations and practicalities at the warehouse, we do not offer gift wrapping. However, if you really suck at wrapping, you can check locally for a gift wrapping service.
I need an item ASAP, can you do that?
Sure, however, depending on the method of payment, where it is going, etc., it can take anywhere from 2 to 5 days to arrive.
If you need it asap, the way to get it there in 2 days is to pay with a credit card through Google Checkout or Paypal OR with funds already in your account with Paypal AND to order it before 10am Central Time.
This only works for business days (Monday through Friday) and does not include holidays or weekends.
What are your business hours?
Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9am to 4pm.
Orders should be received by 2pm CST in order to be considered as being received that day.
If you place an order on Monday at 8pm, that is not considered the first day of your order, Tuesday would be considered the first day of your order.
